This ISMIR, I presented a retrospective of my recent work at Dolby – during an “Industry Presentation”. In this presentation I try to answer questions like.. do you publish? what do you work on? do yo hire interns? via reviewing and going through our recent papers.
Now that I’m a doctor, I can be called to be part of a jury for helping to evaluate PhD students. Today was my first experience doing that, and it was double special because the other jury member was Axel Roebel — with whom I started my research career.

The fourth edition of the Research Awards Sociedad Científica Informática de España (SCIE) – Fundación BBVA awarded me (under the category of Young Researchers in Computer Science) for my contributions within the discipline of music information retrieval, with special emphasis on the use of deep learning architectures in the labelling of sound and music signals.Continue reading
Last November, I defended my doctoral thesis in front of Geoffroy Peeters, Perfecto Herrera, and Juhan Nam — and they honoured our work with a Cum Laude mention!

This last month, I have submitted my doctoral thesis entitled “Deep Neural Networks for Music and Audio Tagging”. I’ll be defending next November 15th, and I’m excited to announce that my jury will be conformed by Geoffroy Peeters, Perfecto Herrera, and Juhan Nam.
